The soundtrack was produced just for Plaid by Pop Heroes, the absolute most awesome band ever to grace the iTunes library of music.
You'll hear this song used as the backdrop to the show-intro for each of the daily wrapup videos that we produce. There will be a new video every day - which will also feature soundtracks by several Sony Music artists (thanks, Sony!!)
Safe to say that you'll be turned onto some of the best music ever just by watching the tour. Thank us later.
Matt just completed the test movie for our show intro. Each day of the PlaidNation tour is captured and recapped on video, and each day is devoted to a different city.
Matt's planning on producing a separate stop motion piece for each city that we visit, so that each day's video will have a unique intro.
That's TEN stop motion pieces that Matt will have to finish in the next few days (no pressure). You'll also hear the new PlaidNation theme song, from the coolest band in the world: Pop Heroes. (Available for download on iTunes, soon.)
We've made visits to some awesome companies while on tour so far, but today was the first time that we made a stop at someone's house. Not just anyone. Robert Scoble.
Robert invited us in, and we chatted about Twitter, search engines, social media, the iPhone, the Nokia phone, and oh, so much more. We also got some great insight into personal brand building. We'll have the interview in its entirety on the dashboard soon.
Because we were there during the 11:00 hour, Robert invited us to broadcast our 11:40 show from his front yard. Pretty sure the neighborhood association is going to write him up on that one.
Matt's begun the process of producing the show intro for our daily wrap up videos. The piece will be done with stop motion animation - which means that Matt will be shooting about a kabillion and a half photographs, and putting them together to create an animation.
The end production will include the Plaid van, some clouds, roadside scenery and other magical things that only exist in Matt's head. Coming soon to a tour dashboard near you.
Just uploaded a video synopsis of our first day on tour. Ironically, the van is barely pictured in the video. We instead went for an approach that makes marketing peeps the star of the show. Marketing people as rock stars. (As long as they're giving us projects, that's my line, and I'm sticking to it.)
